It used to be said that an extroverted person “wore his heart on his sleeve.”

Well, now a lot of people wear their stories on their chests. Or occasionally on their backs. Since I come face to face with about 125 people every day, I can’t help noticing some interesting T-Shirts.

Here are some I remember:
On a middle-aged straggly haired woman, missing two front teeth: “This is NOT the life I ordered.”

On a gray-haired grandma:
50% sweet
50% sassy
100% American

Being who I am, I remember anything that goes with a picture of a horse:

“Are you gonna cowboy up…or just lay there and bleed?”

“Cowboys are like fine wine;
They start out like grapes and it’s our job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they turn into something we would want to have with dinner.”

Written upside down on the back of the shirt: “If you can read this, put me back on my horse.”

On the front: “You ride like a girl” On the back “….. you WISH.”

“If you think I’m a quiet person, it’s because we are not talking about horses.”

And I used to have one that said:

“I love Jesus,
My Horse,
And then it’s between you and the dog.”

On some hurried, harried mothers:
“I childproofed my house, but the kids keep getting in.”

“All stressed out and no one to choke.”

On a college kid:
“It’s only funny until someone gets hurt…
Then it’s hilarious.”

I’ve never seen this one, but Emily says it’s out there”
“Waterboarding – Yes We Can!”

Scarlet or Joe; please translate?
“Iglesia Nueva Jerusalen”

“Los Tigres Del Norte”

What’s the funniest t-shirt you’ve ever seen?

Iglesia Nueva Jerusalem = New Jerusalem Church.

Tigres del Norte = Tigers of the North

I'm not Joseph or Scarlett, but I got here first. ;) (Sounds like a good T-Shirt quote, huh?) Our Amarillo daughter has about six T-shirts that say, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could."

Picture of a cowboy skeleton leaning against a Saguaro cactus.
"Yeah, but it's a dry heat."

Good one, Shirley!

Thanks for the translation, Paul - I forgot you were also bilingual, but I think "I'm not Joe or Scarlet" would make a good T-Shirt. I think the Tigers of the North must be a Latino band - the shirt I saw included a picture of four men.
I like the one about not being born here. Every state needs one of the those.

Insanity is hereditary, you get it from you kids. (applies to all ages)

This might have been a bumper sticker "If you can read this, thank a teacher. If it is in English, thank a vet."

I love tee-shirt with sayings on them, but I never wear them. I sometimes wear band tee-shirts,if they are not too obnoxious.

I'm partial to the bright green cornfield tees that were floating around Blogstock.

I'm with Nora, most of my t-shirts are from concerts. My favorite is from a Newsboys concert. It is a red t-shirt, the front says "I am (FREE)" (like the (RED) t-shirts from some fundraiser going around a couple of years ago.) The back says "count the cost," in reference to Jesus' sacrifice.

When I worked for the newspaper, there were a lot of volunteer opportunities, where a free t-shirt was part of the deal. The joke around our house was I'd do anything for a t-shirt. Now I think most of those shirts have been used at the bottom of the ferret cage.

Translations:
-----Iglesia Nueva Jerusalen”
-----New Church of Jerusalem

-----“Los Tigres Del Norte

-----North Tigers, or literal translation is The tigers of the North. Thanks Paul. I believe the shirt refers to the FARC separatist group in Northern Colombia. So basically, you rung up a terrorist.

I like Shirley's hokey pokey shirt.

I saw one that said...
"If a Turtle Loses its shell, is it homeless or Naked?"
