Yeah but that's sooo hard to do Janell.
If everyone did that there wouldn't be any news to listen to.

Yes, I know, Cliff. But it wasn't my idea - I'm just quoting it.

Hey, I've been looking but I"m not finding the verse I want.
What verse is that that we're to pray for 'strength sufficient for the day'.
I've been hunting and I don't know if I've got the wording twisted or what?
Anyone know?

Are you sure it's strength? I'm thinking of Matthew 6 34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Let the day's own troubles be sufficient for the day." ?

Janell, I think I might like you to help, co-write (?), Ask Dr. Jim. Good here, I like that Matthew 6 34.
My Bible is an NIV, it doesn't capitalize righteousness in "for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."
Does that verse set the world straight in knowing what God wants and is why not obeying God here makes the news? [yes in my book]
..

Matthew 6:34 KJV
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

I've got to use King James in my books because they're historical. Is this it? There's no Strength sufficient for the day?

I found some other verses that work but I thought there was one about strength sufficient for the day, or the task or something. I'm probably getting two verses mixed up.

I'm very close to the end of revisions for book #3 in the Petticoat Ranch series which is now officially named the Lassoed in Texas series btw.
So I realized I skimmed over the wedding and I'm acting that out and I needed the right verse for a scene that comes a bit earlier.

Not a Bible scholar am I? :)

Janell,
I use a pedometer from the time I get up to about the time I go to bed. So I count as many steps per day as I can. I also separate out the steps on defined walks, such as in the mall, along a trail, etc. Already this year, I'm behind my "average," but I I'll make it up as the days warm up and daylight lingers longer. This summer I plan on two 20 mile walks. We'll see.

I like your VODs, by the way. Thanks.

Is Mary talking about me? The Morrow? : )
Well...I can tell when I'm not needed.

Hey Jim - helping you with Ask Dr. Jim sounds like fun. Tell me what and how to do it.
James 1: 19-30 says to me that absolutely everything God does, says, or feels - even anger, which in a human can be very ugly -is in order to draw us closer to Him and to bring us closer to achieving His righteousness within ourselves through Jesus Christ. I do agree that disobedience of God (a/k/a: SIN; murder, thievery, rape, etc.) is what makes the news. Although most people wouldn't label those things as sin, that is what it is.

Paul; that sounds like a good way to do it. What is your "average" number of steps per day?

Mary; I'll keep searching. "Strength for the day" sounds so familiar to me..

Cliff; You always make me laugh! Thanks for that.
