It’s snowing here again.

It’s time for my annual recitation of Oliver Hereford:

“I heard a bird sing in the dark of December.
‘Twas a beautiful thing and sweet to remember.
We are nearer to spring than we were in September.
I heard a bird sing in the dark of December.”

It's raining here again. Buckets!

I drove through fairly light, but wet snow to work and it was a little treacherous...not much poetry filled my soul as the fifth semi splattered my windshield and blinded me.

Even though I don't have any winter sports things going on or travels, etc. I really like to have a bit of winter. And I like some snow, too. Wouldn't care for just rain like Ladawn.

Maybe you will come to appreciate a little cold weather when you get to the hot flashes age.

And I do like that poem. I get it.

I don't want to sound stupid, but when I read your poem I think of Big Bird from Sesame Street... :-)

I, too like the change of seasons and would not like the cold rain of LaDawn's winter. When it is cold, snowing and windy my thought is "Is it spring yet?" Or for encouragement "Spring is coming."

Note to Joe -- living with a toddler does that to people.

I like the poem.
All of the snow in eastern nebraska somehow ended up on my lane.

"...we are nearer to spring than we were in September..." I'll buy that!
