Another annual Carson Picnic gathering is in the books for this year. We met for potluck at the Methodist Kitchen on the Burt COunty Fairgrounds in Oakland, NE. It's always good to see everyone and catch up on the extended family news.
After all the great food, those who remembered to bring swimsuits congregated at the city pool and enjoyed the waterslide. I liked these shots the best. The rest of my pictures are still in the camera and will get posted as soon as I use up the rest of the film. I'm still not using digital, but having seen LaDawn's camera, I am beginning to lean in that direction.

That was a lot of fun.
Go get yourself a digital camera ASAP. You will never regret it. You will never regret it.
It took me awhile to give in, but I'm not looking back.
I recommend a minimum 8.0 mega pixels, but 10.0 mgs are becoming easier to obtain; i.e. the price is coming down. So check those out, too.
Have fun. You'll probably never take the time to eat again, but, hey...it's digital!
BTW, JD: the steak and fully loaded potato are keeping warm in the oven. I'm sorry, I'm out of sweet tea, but there is a fresh bottle of chocolate milk right behind the sour cream.
Thanks, Brooke. I'm glad you were there.
Paul; I don't know. I'm still waffling due to the cost. When I finally cave and get one, you'll be the first to know.
My second digital is a little Sony. It goes to 7 megpixel but I run it at five. That is enough for me and plenty for the blog. A lot cheaper too and I can keep it in my pocket at all times.
Those kids hanging out at the barn are having fun! Is that on your place?
I have some fond memories of the Oakland park and golf course up there.
Check my other blog, JIM'S LITTLE PHOTO PLACE for parade pictures today.

Yes, Jim, that's at my place.
I hope you'll share some of your golf course & Oakland memories on your blog.
And what in the heck are you doing up so late? Did you take a 3-11 shift someplace?!?
I was pretty sore Monday from catching all the kids at the end of the slide. It was worth it though to see there smiles when they came out of the water.
The best one, I think you may have been back across the street, was when Abigail went down the slide by herself. She came off backwards and i caught her upside down with her legs in the air. She was just a laughing!
Love the pics Janelle.
